Welcome to our SEA Alumni!

Welcome to the Sweetwater Episcopal Academy Alumni Page!  We know that many of our young graduates and their families lose contact with their SEA friends and families after graduating and moving on to middle school and high school.

Alumni Highlights

Congratulations to Trevor Mylin, Alumni Class of 2006 and student at Markham Woods Middle School, for winning the Tropicana  District 8 Public Speaking Contest!  He competed against five other sixth graders from Lake, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia and Orange County on Saturday at the Orange County Fair. Trevor initially won the Contest at the school level. Then he placed second at the County Level where over 3,800 6th grade students competed from both public and private schools throughout Seminole County. Trevor attended the district finals held on Saturday April 28th at the Orlando Fair Grounds because the winner of the contest was unable to attend.  He  represented all of the 6th graders in Seminole County.  Way to go Trevor!  We are so proud of you!

Miss Jordan Davis (Alumni Class of 2002) and a student at Trinity Prep, was recently nominated to attend the Summer 2007 National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. The National Youth Forum, a program for top sophomores and juniors, is held on leading medical school campuses nation-wide and introduces future physicians to distinguished medical leaders and research pioneers. The 10-day summer program gives the students opportunities to examine state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and future medical specialties in detail. Jordan is one of a select group of high school scholars chosen to participate in this annual program which recognizes the nation’s outstanding young leaders of tomorrow. SEA congratulates Jordan on her nomination!

Jack Michael Rothman (Alumni Class of 2006) has qualified to advance to the State Championship round of the Reader's Digest National Word Power Challenge. As one of the top 100 scoring 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in the state, Jack was invited to compete at the State Championship event in March. At this level of the competition, students will compete for the title of State Championship. The winner will compete at the National level. Way to go Jack Michael!

Miss Julie Anna Givens, graduate of the SEA Class of 2004, was selected as Little Miss Apopka 2006, in the Little Miss Apopka pageant held at Apopka High School. She writes her heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Delius for being a great role model and teacher and for preparing her to answer the winning “question on stage with confidence!” She states that because of the report she had done in 5th grade at SEA on Mrs. Barbara Bush, she was “easily able to answer the question.” SEA congratulates Julie Anna on this achievement!

Above: 6th Graders at Trinity Prep - World Expo History Project where the students researched a country, made a visual aid of their country, memorized a speech about their country (they had to act like they were tour guides - get you to come visit their country) and dressed up in traditional costume from their country. The pictures are the kids standing in front of their visual aids ready to give their speeches to passersby.

Lindsey M. (Alumni Class 2002) and Chelsea M. (Alumni Class 2005) were in the regional science fair and both won first place in their categories. They will be going to state science fair again this year.

SEA Class of 2000 alumni Michael Brook is currently a senior at East Ridge High School in Clermont where he plays Varsity soccer. His mother Maggie, former  SEA 5th grade teacher, Reading Chair and Team Leader, writes that last season he played Varsity soccer at Timber Creek High School in New Jersey.  Mike will attend UCF with his brother in 2007.

Joey Titorenko, SEA Alumni Class of 2006, was active in the SEA Band during his fourth and fifth grade years.  He is now attending middle school at Trinity Prep where he auditioned for a seat in the competitive trombone section in the Trinity Concert Band.  Joey received the highest score, which earned him Principal Chair (best player).  He also auditioned for the Jazz Band and was accepted so now he plays in both the Concert band and Jazz band.  Congratulations to Joey Titorenko on this accomplishment!
