THE ANNUAL FUND As a small school, SEA depends on the generous support to the Annual Fund by all families to provide the margin of excellence for which we are known. Each year annual giving touches every part of the school: faculty salaries and professional development, financial aid, classroom supplies and facilities enhancements. The generosity of our parents touches each student in real ways every day. The Sweetwater Episcopal Academy’s Annual Fund was established to provide unrestricted support for current operations. Currently, the Annual Fund contributes approximately 8% of SEA's budget revenue. The stronger the Annual Fund, the better equipped the school is to provide a superior educational environment for our students. SEA Annual Fund gifts have a direct impact on the everyday lives of students and are used in a variety of ways: providing financial aid, increased funding for student activities, faculty recruitment, state of the art technology such as wireless Internet, support for SEA's programs, and much more. We strive for 100% parent, faculty and staff participation, and seek Annual Fund support in the Fall. For the 2005-2006 year we have a goal of $100,000 and recognize Leadership Club gifts for donations of $2,500 and above. While we encourage gifts to the Annual Fund made before Winter Break, we accept gifts through June 30th to be recognized for the school year. One of the ways parents, alumni and friends of SEA can support our school is through donations known as "Gifts In Kind." Gift In Kind Donations are tangible goods and services donated to the school for which the donor can receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the item. Before accepting Gifts In Kind, the appropriate school department should be contacted by the donor to determine our ability to use the specific item. Common Gifts In Kind are computers, books and laboratory equipment. Family Foundations: If you are a member of a family foundation or are aware of a foundation whose programs fall within those here at SEA, please contact Cheryl Bair, or see Ways of Giving.
