The Library Media Center (LMC) is located in the Enrichment Building next to the Pavilion. A
computer station, located in the middle of the library, provides a research
center with six computers allowing access to the Internet, Accelerated
Reader and the Athena card catalog. Ten laptop computers are available for 3rd-5th
grade students for research skills projects.
All students make weekly
or bi-weekly classes scheduled in the Library.
Additional times can be scheduled to accommodate units of study and individual student’s
interest. During the library period, students return and check out materials,
listen to a story presentation, and learn skills necessary to use the SEA LMC as
well as to become prepared to succeed at middle school and high school.
The Library
Media Specialist also coordinates and/or helps support programs such as the Rave
Reading Contest, research projects, Scholastic Book Fair, and Write On!, SEA’s
literary magazine.
The Library has been funded in part
by grants secured by SEA's information specialist. The library has been
expanded by books and equipment purchased with these grants. In addition,
an on-going book gift program enables parents, grandparents and siblings to gift
the library with a favorite book in honor of a student or an alumnus. The
books are dedicated each Wednesday during Chapel. Please click the link below to
print the Dedication Form which should be turned in to the Library along with
the book to be dedicated.
