Pam Wolfcale

Pam Wolfcale is a 4th grade teacher at SEA.  Additionally, she teaches Writing Workshop to all 4th & 5th grade students and Creative Writing 3rd Grade.   At various times throughout the year, Ms. Wolfcale works with 2nd graders to introduce the Writer’s Notebook so that they can gain familiarity with idea development for written expression.

As our Writing Workshop teacher, she believes that children will write with a passion when it is a topic that they believe in. Therefore, the students are presented with various genres throughout the year from which they may choose their own approaches and themes to engage in during the workshop.

Her writing program is set up to teach children to live a “Writerly Life.” She is enthusiastic about teaching a group of students who demonstrate a great love for learning.

Although this year will only begin her third year at SEA, she expresses her near-inability to remember what life was like before SEA.   She wakes up everyday anxious to enjoy another day at this great place.

Ms. Wolfcale graduated from Portland State University.  She also attended the Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University, New York, to enhance her knowledge of teaching writing.  Prior to joining SEA, Ms. Wolfcale was a 5th grade teacher in the public school system.

During her free time, Ms. Wolfcale enjoys spending time with her family, reading, relaxing on the beach, walking her dogs and spending time with friends.
