PARENTS' CLUB MISSION The Parents' Club of Sweetwater Episcopal Academy is an organization promoting parental involvement. The Club's mission is to foster the growth and development of SEA students as well as SEA faculty through fund-raising efforts and volunteer participation.
ROLE OF THE
Throughout the year, the Parents' Club organizes many services that would otherwise need to be funded through tuition and staffed by the school. These activities benefit the students, the Academy, and the parents. We coordinate fundraising activities, administrative activities, special celebrations for the teachers, students, and the Academy. We meet at least four times during the school year to keep our parents informed and get their ideas. Each year, parents elect officers to coordinate and facilitate the activities of the club.
2008 - 2009
President, Vice President and Treasurer are also members of the Governing Board at Sweetwater Episcopal Academy and attend all trustee meetings, vote on all issues, and are the liaison between the parents, administration and the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. MEETINGS & MINUTES The club meets during the school year. The Head of the School and a teacher representative are usually present. Agenda items include teacher spotlights. Teachers are invited to talk about their subject area. Guest speakers are invited on occasion to address topics of interest to the parents.
DUES $20 per family paid at the start of each academic year. PROGRAMS Several events are held annually, such as the Scholastic Book Fair, Winter Fest, Spring Fling, a dinner and auction, as well as other fund-raisers. There are also several picnics and gatherings designed to enable Sweetwater Episcopal Academy's parents to meet each other in an information setting. The Helping Hands program is designed to help teachers by providing services such as making copies, filing, preparing bulletin boards and working in the lunchroom. The Parents Club also provides the hot lunch program at SEA.
