TECHNOLOGY at sea The computer program at Sweetwater Episcopal Academy familiarizes students with the basic operation of a computer, it’s terminology, and its role as a resource tool for investigation, communication, and presentation. The computer activities relate to topics of study being taught in the regular classrooms. A hands– on curriculum based on age appropriate software, digital cameras, and Internet sources prepare students to function in a technology literate world. Teachers provide significant learning opportunities for using technology in a safe computing environment. Classroom teachers schedule computer activities during open lab periods for their students to work on various projects that are integrated with what students are learning in the classroom.
Keyboarding instruction
using a school networked keyboarding program begins in third grade and continues
through fifth grade. Computer use is extended beyond the lab and into the
regular classrooms through the use of twenty wireless laptop
computers. GOALS OF THE SEA COMPUTER CURRICULUM
